Patience is a Virtue... & I don't have it.

Today I broke the garage door. Lemme tell ya the story... so this morning I was in a hurry to work & I started backing the car out of the garage. Little did I know, the garage door was not all the way up yet. I ran into the garage door with Jedi's car & broke it. awesome. but I still had to go to work, so I just left. hahaha it's not funny. but ironically, my dad is in the garage door business. so I didn't sweat it too much. Then, to add to the story, I was on my jolly way to work when I got stuck in a mad line of traffic. I guess there was a car crash in the middle of the intersection or something. Rather then waiting for five minutes, I got out of the line & tried to find a different way to work. FAIL. I ended up turning around & getting back into the line of cars. Eventually these events caused me to be 2 minutes late. I would have been right on time had I just waited in that stupid line. Lately I've been praying for patience & I'm thinking that God is throwing little mishaps into my life in order for me to LEARN patience. yeah, that's probably it.
"patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to have a good attitude while waiting."
I also get rather impatient with stupid people. (this includes sunday drivers, bad listeners, & kids who have attention disorder problems... oh & my family. most specifically my brother Jed) but Jedi is a whole different story. oh AND to top off this post, I've been freaking losing twitter followers. *like one a day!! ugh!! why?! because. I have an iphone now so I have access to twitter 24/7 & let me tell you, I use & abuse it. I really need to have more patience with my iphone hahaha I put it down for 3 seconds & then pick it back up & think of some stupid tweet that I shouldn't have tweeted because, well, because it was stupid. I apologize to all of my followers for all of the idiotic tweets lately... I'm working on it! I even deleted the app! haha I'm sure I'll have it back within the next two hours though. see? no patience. k bye. oh p.s. I'm going nuts with instagram lately as well. SORRY.... I'm not sorry.

I've been everywhere man, I've been everywhere!

Hi friends. here's a list of all the places I, personally (not including all the times my family moved before I was born) have lived:
Birthplace: LAS VEGAS (explains some things right?) Provo (when I was.. 4?) Spanish Fork (kindergarten baby) Santaquin house #1 (on the bench, the most fun.) Santaquin house #2 (with the great sledding hill) Santaquin house #3 (peach street. the twin homes.) Santaquin house #4 (downtown santaquin, "little red") probably my favorite yard/treehouse. (p.s. the best ward I've ever been in.) Genola (3 years?) Ephraim. (snowlledge was good to me.) St. George (kaci's apartment... living with my sister & her husband had to be the worst experience of my entire life.) & st. George house #2 (current residence) yeah so I've lived a lot of different places. & that's fine. because I never had to switch schools. (with the exception of kindergarten) If you knew me growing up, you know that we were never in the same place. always moooving. :) can't wait to see where life continues to take me! As Napoleon Dynamite would say, "is that a new kid or something?" PEDRO OUT.

Bad news: I am blind.

Hi friends. This post is special because it's my first post made from my iPhone. You could say I feel a slight amount of coolness. Anyway... I want to inform everyone about my eyesight. Ever since the first grade I have been wearing glasses, which progressed to glasses/contacts through the years. I wasn't a smart nerd, but I did look like one. My vision is so horrible. {-750 to be exact} <--- that would be my prescription. Considered legally blind on my drivers license & that's fine. Ive had terrible vision for as long as I can remember.. But to make things worse and add some suspense to the story, a few years back (I want to say four now?) I got an Ulsar on my cornea. This was from sleeping with my contacts in for a week straight... Oops!! Oh and let me just give props to katelyn rowley for a minute. She totally called that it would happen to me. Haha she warned me about it on the bus in like seventh grade. I'm an idiot. So yeah. I got one and I spent 24 hours in the hospital getting 3 separate eye drops every fifteen minutes from the nurse while I slept. Not cool. Now I'm almost completely blind in my right eye because of the scar from my Ulsar. Yup. I have a scar on my pupil. Cool. {but I'm not being sarcastic this time, it really is kinda cool.} so if you ever think your eyes suck, they probably don't compared to mine. Unless you are full on blind. That's all. Oh and I posted this today because I went to the eye doctor earlier. K bye :)

Snow Cones are FOREVER

Doesn't matter where you are from, there is always that ONE place that has the BEST snow cones. Am I right? & you can argue that your place is better than another place all day long if you have to. I have argued that the Payson snow shack across from Smith's is thee absolute best since as long as I can remember. I also really love the snow cremes in spring city. I have recently been challenged in my argument. The Tiki-Shack in Cedar City. Holy Wow!! Those snow cones have got to be just about perfect!! There are multiple different terms for how you can "design" your snow cone {i.e. volcano style=whip cream up the ying yang}. You can have ice cream, sweetened condensed milk, whipped cream, coco-cream, sour spray, or just flavoring. They make the ice perfect! & the amount of flavoring is spot on. Not too much & definitively enough.  I can't even describe it. The flavor I got was Raspberry peach mango, or course, because that's the one I usually always get. With ice cream in the bottom :) oh noms. It was soooo amazing. If you haven't been to the tiki-shack, you should probably go there. It's only downfall is that there aren't a million flavors to choose from. I like to have my options. Snow cones are essential for summer. One day I will hopefully own a snow shack of my own & hire children as slaves to run it. It will be the best snow shack in the world. If you would like me to remember you when I am famous, just let me know & I'll put you on the list. Go get a snow cone. right now. p.s. I love my boyfriend. (for taking me to the Tiki Shack & buying me a snow cone). & summer. & the lake.

Little Dogs Like to Hump.

"They call me Humper!" (you won't understand this if you haven't seen bambi) No, they don't call ME humper.... I don't think at least. I am referring to my sister's chihuahua, Sadie. She loves to hump. In fact, she just started humping my arm while I was sitting on the couch. who does that?! hormonal dogs I guess. According to my very intelligent mother, "All little dogs like to hump." She is probably right. She also said that the term is called, 'domination'. the dog wanted to show me who is boss. I want to get a puppy pug someday in the future... & now I am reconsidering if it is worth it. Sadie also likes to hump giant stuffed animals. {like the dolphin that we got at sea world} will I ever touch that stuffed dolphin again? probably not. Excuse me while I go sanitize my shirt that now has dog hormones all over it. p.s. have a happy "HUMP" day tomorrow. {Wednesday's are called hump-days of the week for those of you who didn't know that}

St. George - The Retirement City

Curious as a little cat, I looked up the st. George demographics online today. haha 15-20% of the population are between ages 65-84. In my families ward the % ratio of old people compared to everyone else is probably at least 40-50%. You go to relief society & the ladies pass out homemade sweaters!! I guess old people get really cold during church? haha such nice ladies.. Old people love it here! It's warm, friendly, happy, & comforting. It's true what sociologists say you know; people will stick with their own kind. Old people will stick with old people. {there is nothing wrong with old people, by the way} It's been said that the elderly live longer in St. George. There is a drive to live longer lingering in the bones when you live here. Today in church my dad was sitting next to an older man, {like a lot older}, & he was thought to have turned off his handy dandy hearing aids. hahaha so un-knowingly, the man loudly farted the entire meeting. They don't call them "old-farts" for nothing right? hahaha With that being said, I have nothing against old people. Just simply stating a fact. Old people love St. George. They thrive here! One complaint though: they drive terribly... & it's not fun to get stuck behind an old stogie putting along when you've got somewhere to be. They are always either very nice & funny, or grouchy & impatient. Most of them are nice though :) oh & p.s. when old people are more athletic than I am, I get super depressed. Yesterday on our Angel's Landing hike we got passed by some old timers... it made me want to cry in defeat. but don't worry, I pursued my happiness & accomplished my goal of reaching the top... even if the old, fit couple did it in half the time as me.

FREEDOM

Freedom - a poem by me

free from the rapture of educational enforcement
free as the soft wind in the spring
free from the pressure of social endorsement
free as the old, worn down tire-swing

free from the tight grip of society's hold
free as the bee from my classroom this morning
free from the world's glorified, generic mold
free as the bee who was killed without warning
(& yes, I was the killer of the bee... with my shoe. I don't feel bad.)

free from conformists surrounding this place
free as the water that flows constantly
free from my habitually used 'poker face'
free as the shade of a favorite tree

freedom from things has great value, free things do as well;
My freedom as now, is from the school bell.

dear readers, college was fun. I learned a whole bunch. I wouldn't trade my experience for anything... except maybe winning the lottery. Conformity was all around me. I like to stand out. I like to be heard. at the same time though, don't expect me to break through my shyness and fear of 'the people'. at times I am shy and at times I am known. (I can be a pretty loud, obnoxious beast) To know when to shine and to know when to blend is one of the many things I have had to learn through my college experience.

"Be a friend when you are needed, an observer when you are not. Always be kind & keep your head up Hot-shot."

I am now free to go on with my life & do as I please. I am free to do just about anything. (walk around the house naked since I won't be around 5 other girls.. okay that's a lie. I already do that anyway.) I can use a plate and not worry about upsetting someone's personal 'possessions'. I can make a phone call without a third party. I can have my own outlet for my blow dryer AND my straightener. I can pee with the door wide open again! Life is good. freedom is sweet.
